Cave painting Banksy

This graffiti regroups two periods in an image : the past and the present. The past is represented by a traditionnal cave painting of humans hunting animals during  prehistory in the background of the graffiti. In the foreground, the present is represented by a man who maintenances the city. He cleans the cave and erases the old graffiti. I think this graffiti denounces the censorship that society etablished.

If society doesn’t like the message that a graffiti reflects, they will erase it even if the message sends something true. The people who erased graffiti erased a piece of human history. Indeed, if in the prehistoy they erased graffiti we would not know all we know about them now, so I think it is important to leave them
